Great success for the WvSG: numerous pupils achieved outstanding placings in this year's Informatik-Biber 2025, Germany's largest school competition in the field of computer science. The so-called "Beaver Weeks" took place from November 10 to 21, 2025 and attracted over 575,000 children and young people nationwide to take part.
The Informatik-Biber has been promoting computer science thinking in a fun way since 2007. Young people are introduced to logical thinking, problem-solving strategies and basic computer science concepts at an early age with real-life and everyday tasks. The scope of the tasks varies depending on the year group - for example, pupils in years 5 and 6 complete twelve tasks in 35 minutes.
A total of 140 pupils from years 6, 9, 10 and EF took part at WvSG this year. The effort paid off: Several participants were able to enjoy top rankings.
The school community would like to congratulate all participants on their commitment and success. The competition impressively demonstrates how much enthusiasm and talent for computer science is already present at a young age.
