Equipped with buckets, sponges and polish, the pupils set about cleaning the Stolpersteine. The listed settlement was a center of political resistance during the National Socialist era and is now home to seven Stolpersteine. With the help of an app, the students were also able to participate by leaving a digital candle at the former homes of the Gronau residents.
When asked what we can do today to ensure that such a time "never comes back", one student replied: "To remember these people and to accept all other people for who they are." (Stk)
