Now the 23 pupils from Years 10-Q1, who have voluntarily applied for this trip, have finally set off on the Werner-von-Siemens-Gymnasium's first memorial trip to Krakow and Auschwitz, full of expectation and certainly with a great deal of respect. They are accompanied by the history teachers Jens Lücke and Ines Springer as well as the principal Thomas Herden. We are particularly pleased that Dennis Buß, the school sponsor in the "School without Racism - School with Courage" network, will be taking part in the trip as a musician and workshop lecturer, so that a product will be created in cooperation with Haus Lebenstein at the end of the trip that will allow the experiences to be shared with the school and city public. This trip is motivated by the deep conviction that memory must remain alive in order to learn from history and never again allow hatred to defeat humanity.
