Cycling training with the JVS
- We took part in the youth traffic school training course for the first time. We practiced safe driving, braking and overcoming obstacles.
The Easter bunny was there
The Easter bunny was here today. All the children searched diligently and found a little Easter surprise.

As part of the school cinema weeks, we took the train to Gronau to visit cinetech.
Nativity tour
On 19.01.2024, we visited the nativity scene in St. Agatha's Church together with class 1b. There was a lot to discover there.
Reading round
Open singing on 20.12.2023
At 8:30 a.m., classes 1 and 3 met with their parents in the gymnasium. There they sang together and each class had rehearsed a short performance.
Craft day on 24.11.2023
Today we spent the whole day crafting and decorating our school for Christmas. Lots of parents were there to help us with tinkling, cutting and gluing. So we were able to decorate our windows and classrooms with stars, houses and snowmen.
Sponsorship: Class 1a and Class 3b
Today we met with our sponsor class. The third graders had written a very personal letter for each first grader, which they read aloud. That was really something special. Afterwards, the bats read from the reading book.
The small square
Today in geometry we heard the story of the little square that wants to transform itself into other things. We folded a house, a tulip, a cat, a wind kite and a cute little pig out of the square.
Geometric shapes
We got to know geometric shapes. Today we used them to create figures.
Class party for 1a
On 27.10.2023 we celebrated our first class party. We performed two songs and played lots of games. It was really cool.
Light and dark
In our science lessons, we are currently looking at light and dark clothing. We have been thinking about which colors are easy to see in the morning when it is still dark. We used a flashlight to see what lights up on our clothes.
Shaker boxes
We learned about the shake box in math today. We used it to find out how numbers can be broken down. We also calculated our first plus problems.
Apple juice
We are currently studying apples in our science lessons. We have learned a lot about the structure, growth and different varieties of apples. All the children brought apples to school, which we used to make delicious apple juice.

Listening exercises
We listen very carefully to which words begin with the same sound. We sing the initial sound rap every day and we always play little listening games.
Organic bread box campaign - Class 1a and 1b
Today we talked about healthy breakfasts. We received a tin of healthy treats from Söbbeke.
Sponsor rally
We held a school rally with our sponsor class, 3b, to help the first graders get to know the school building better. The third graders showed and explained the most important rooms and paths to the first graders. This resulted in a colorful bat.
"Borken district sees yellow!" campaign - All first graders were given yellow caps.
Our first lesson
School enrollment ceremony
Mrs. Schmeing welcomed all first graders with their parents at the main staircase. Classes 3a and 3b sang an ABC song and the Overberg song. After a short devotion, all the children went to their class and experienced their first lesson.
