At the beginning of February, we took the train to Gronau. We walked from the station to the cinema in glorious sunshine. There we watched the movie "The Olchis". We had a whole movie theater just for us, which was great. After the movie, we were able to play outside before taking the train back to Epe.
We wrote a great letter to the Förderverein and asked for Kapla bricks. Now Mrs. Meyer has brought us these bricks. She is the chairwoman of the Friends' Association. We started building straight away. The bricks are really good!
We had a great class party in December: in the morning, we did arts and crafts and decorated our class for Christmas. In the afternoon, we met up with our parents at school to celebrate. We performed two great plays for the parents (The Christmas Mouse and 1000 Great Cookies). Outside in the schoolyard, the lights from the light tractor that Lena's dad had brought were shining. We had lots of time to play and the adults to chat.
Despite the weather, we walked to Agatha Church today with the whole school community and sang Christmas carols together with lots of other children.
Every morning during Advent, we start the school day with a small Advent celebration. We sing, light our lights and listen to the next chapter of "The Christmas Ghost". Every day there are Advent children who get to unwrap a little surprise. So the time until Christmas flies by.
This year's craft day took place on Friday, 29.11.2024. All classes spent 4 hours cutting, gluing and crafting to decorate the classrooms and corridors for Christmas.
After the school dentist came to our school last week, we dealt extensively with the topic of "dental health" today as part of our science lessons.
In addition to the KAI cleaning method, we learned a lot about our teeth and the functions of the individual teeth. We were able to try out lots of practical things at all the stations.
On the last day before the fall vacations, we had a playtime where we could also bring our favorite cuddly toy. Now we are looking forward to two weeks of fall break!
Today we cooked delicious jacket potatoes in science class and ate them with various sauces. We had previously found out how potatoes are planted and harvested. Next year we would like to harvest potatoes ourselves.
All the children at the school were allowed to drum with Fufu for a day today. At the end of the day, there was a hands-on concert and parents were also invited.
This school year, we elected class representatives for the first time. First, we discussed the tasks and duties of this office in subject lessons and re-enacted everyday situations in various role plays. The election was then held by secret ballot. Our class representatives are Kathalea and Luke.
We went on a trip to the zoo in Rheine in glorious sunshine. There was a lot to discover and many different animals to see. The goats in the petting zoo were particularly trusting and loved to be stroked and fed.
