Mission Statement

Mission statement of our school

We attach particular importance to a lively school life.

Our school should not only be a place to learn, but also a place to live for every child. Peaceful and friendly interaction between all those involved in school life (children, parents, teachers and educators) is important to us. We want close, open and trusting cooperation with parents in order to be able to fulfill our joint educational mission. We support all pupils equally in their personal development, social behavior and artistic and practical skills, taking into account their individual circumstances. We teach basic skills, knowledge and abilities in content and form in such a way that they are adapted to the individual learning opportunities and experiences of our pupils, but also meet future requirements. We want to promote strengths; we want to provide space, time and the best possible support for individual learning. We maintain our pupils' enthusiasm for learning and motivate them to achieve a level of commitment that is indispensable in our society. Through harmonious cooperation in and outside of school, we aim to create a pleasant living and working atmosphere that makes it possible to reconcile the new with the tried and tested.

We want our pupils to leave our school as well-rounded individuals. In terms of the way we teach, this means that our lessons should encourage openness and interest among the children and teach them to treat others with respect and understanding. Our lessons should promote the children's personal development (lessons as a place where children live and learn) and are an important part of our school culture. The topics and issues are only relevant to the lessons if they originate from the children's world, i.e. if they have or could have significance in their lives in the future. Our lessons should not only repeat experiences, but also open up new horizons. It should encourage the children to ask questions. From the point of view of the children's development of new interpretations, the topics must be pedagogically justified. The lessons should encourage them to engage with elementary questions. Action and situation orientation as well as independent learning are important features of the lessons (children as active, competent partners who contribute to the lessons) and our lessons should counterbalance the tendency towards individualization (social education: understanding others, cooperative interaction, making joint decisions...). Our lessons should address children as members of a group. It should promote the methodological skills (variety of methods) of the children. Our lessons take place according to the class teacher principle and/or as subject lessons (if possible interdisciplinary). Our lessons have the task of taking up the heterogeneity of different groups (ethnic, linguistic, cultural) and promoting an interest in each other (intercultural learning).

In order for the children to learn to learn, it is particularly important to us that the school building is equipped in a child-friendly and modern way. For example, a computer room is available for the development of media skills. In addition to the normal range of lessons, we offer working groups to promote creativity and train cognitive skills (soccer and sewing clubs).
